    A few years ago a sports director said he had concerns about hiring me because I was a girl, and he was worried that I physically couldn’t handle shooting a whole game with a big camera. Tonight I was the only girl on the sideline shooting. And I did a damn good job.

    A bill to arm police has been prefiled by Del. Glenn and will be heard 1/9. Good to know that city delegates are apparently more concerned about fully arming police than fully funding schools.

    There was a time in this nation’s history when slaveholding politicians blamed abolitionists for the deaths of all those illegals resisting slavery. Abolitionist policies were allowing slaves to think they can break the law, slaveholders said. History is rarely history.

    We all clearly heard Trump say he would shut down the government and would proudly accept “the mantle” for doing so. I know Louisiana’s a bit of a backwater, but most of us now have those newfangled TeeVees.

  17. I'm not sure whether it's an active church or not. A quick Google search shows that it is up for sale. You can buy it for $90,000. Must be a big fire. All firefighters have been ordered out of the building.

    Smithsonian confirmed for me that its cafeteria staff are contract workers who will be out of a job next week due to the shutdown. These are low-wage workers who don't get backpay from the government. The shutdown stings, folks
