    The president allegedly ordered his underling to commit a crime in order to win the election. The crime was successful and he won the election. And that doesn't even touch the *other* criminal conspiracy undertaken on his behalf during the campaign.

    The Modesto Progressive Democrats don't condone the comment made at the event. We hope that Jeff Denham calls out Donald Trump with a similar passion for his comments calling Mexicans rapists, telling us a judge can't be impartial because he is of Mexican descent, and denigrating

    There is absolutely no evidence that Democrats are a minority in this country. We’ve won the popular vote in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections, and lead in party registration. Also, most of the party’s policy positions command majority support in poll after poll.

    Only one thing will ever convince Democrats to moderate: they must be convinced that they are, at least for a while, a minority in the country. That is what induced them to change in 1992, in 1995-96, and to a lesser extent 2006. Today, they are convinced of the opposite.

    Okay, so, take heart in this, but be prepared to fight anyway. The GOP will react to this by running every dirty game they can. Which is their core strategy anyway. Vote as if no election *will* be won but every election *can* be won.

    Democrats are now so far ahead of Republicans on the generic ballot that their cones of uncertainty no longer overlap. It was definitely me and not who noticed this.
