    When art, science and meet : digital reconstruction by gives new insights into Rembrandt's and what the painting looked like before it was cropped. Now on view for three months!

    I designed a sequence of three artificial neural networks to make a computer reconstruction of the missing parts of the Night Watch from a small copy that was made before it was cut down. The result is now hanging around the painting for the next three months !

    I'm excited to give a keynote at this year's about the challenging process of making an insanely high-resolution 717 gigapixel (!) photo of Rembrandt's Night Watch at the Rijksmuseum, and the key role played by Python and the scientific Python stack throughout the process.
