We lost our family dog Sadie this week, the bear, the tank, the best animal that has ever existed. She spent 15 years (!) as the most spoiled animal on this planet. What a run, what a legend. 🥰

I don't really know how to explain it, but Hi-Fi Rush, Forspoken, and Wanted:Dead all have the same vibe to me as awesome next-generation PS2 games, and I cannot be more enthusiastic about this renaissance of purified, focused action RPGs with weird, fun features.

I'm watching a friend stream Wanted: Dead, and this game is bonkers and wonderful in every way. A ramen-eating rhythm game is immediately followed by a cop responding to the question, "I heard you have a gun?" with "WHO TOLD YOU THAT?"

Also, there are things I used to believe that I held onto out of habit, and they just weren't true anymore -- I reflexively thought "I don't like JRPGs that much" while the genre changed me for 10 straight years.

For 20+ years, I did not care for turn-based games, found "cards" to be an instant turn-off in almost any genre, and thought "slow-paced" equaled "boring."
A turn-based slow-burn with some cards sounds so dreamy to me now. Ideal, even.

The older I get, the more I try to consciously revisit media that didn't resonate with me at the time, like Prime. It pays off almost every time.
"I didn't like that" doesn't mean anything when it was 20 years ago and I was a literal different person. Taste changes with you!
