Well and mine do racist shit they don’t think is racist (“it’s not about race, but why can’t [demographic] stop doing [stereotype]!”) but they never “taught” me anything about Black ppl (or any other demographic…except Germans

Mine have that default comfort, so not addressed often. But one thing I am grateful for is they filled the house with African American art. We watched TV with Af Am casts (besides Cosby). My dad as a musician often played black musicians from all eras. It wasn’t overt but helped.
