absolutely nothing. they didn’t talk to me about Black people (or race in general) bc they didn’t think about race bc they didn’t/don’t have to. (my sister & I have since taught them, to mixed results, including the screaming match we had at that restaurant a couple weeks ago

fwiw my parents didn’t see much in the way of racial diversity until they came to this country, and their friend group was/is racially diverse, but they never brought up structural oppression that didn’t affect them/me specifically.
