Pretty much. I took my first call center job after dropping out of school with the intent that I could carry things and she could focus on her studies. She was better than me at the whole "student" thing. I still don't always make ends meet, and I've got a good paying job now.
I have no fucking clue what I would’ve done if I’d been a dude in my financial situation 
then again, if I were a dude, I probably wouldn’t have been in the same financial situation lol

Can confirm, as I am basically employed on the merits of "nerdy dude who knows nerdy shit and is somewhat personable and authoritative sounding". And just basically did that for the past like... 7-8 years, and then got the only gig in this field that pays well.
