It occurred to me the other day, finally, after observing yet another respected colleague get harassed by bad actors seeking to scare them into submission for personal gain, that unless they’re threatening your safety, you can just…ignore them. 🏖

Doxxing is never cool, no matter the situation. I am tired of people being blasé about this when it can be a matter of life or death.

I, a vaxxed person and a hypochondriac, went for a Covid test today, & the dr told me that at least 50% of her patients are vaxxed people who are freaking out bc they think their colds are covid, & then I asked her what % of those patients were gay, and she paused & said “a lot.”

Some folks at NYU are collecting stories on the impact of covid on disabled people, and are specifically looking to include disabled sex workers, more info here:

A cautionary tale: I have never, in my whole life, met a sexworker who was in a mainstream documentary about sexwork, who felt GOOD about that experience. Outsiders exploit us by making films about how we’re supposedly exploited. Don’t appear in documentaries. It won’t go well.

Policing sex work in the age of SESTA is going to keep trending towards this: expanding criminalization into more kinds of work and venues, including private homes (ugh also this gross dollop of stunt-chasing johnalism)

  20. thinkin bout my 1st year of grad school when a colleague warned me that a friend was only my friend bc I was an “edgy” SWer. I was pissed at the time that she boxed me into my SW “identity” & started cutting her off in favor of the friend. I should’ve listened to the colleague.

This is why the legal system will never be the solution to ending rape. It was founded on a system designed for and by rapist enslavers and their pals. And since then, the law has been designed to allow as much sexual violence as possible.
