What a lovely idea 😊🌈 🏫 We're delighted to see one of our wonderful schools taking the lead from pupils with this today to help challenge gender stereotypes and send a strong message of inclusion for all. Well done to the pupils for raising this idea! 👏👏🏽👏🏿

Today is ‘wear a skirt to school day’ in Spain and this year Castleview Primary in Edinburgh are encouraging staff and pupils to take part to ‘break down gender stereotypes’ and ‘promote equality.' Is it time for gender neutral school uniforms?

So proud of our P6 pupils who made the choice to support Mikel Gomez and campaign by wearing skirts to school. Our pupils are free to wear the uniform that best suits them EVERY day of the year 💜 Our pupils are incredible for organising this 😍

We absolutely do not want to force anyone to wear something they’re not happy with but we’re hoping lots of you will be keen to help spread our important message. Trousers under skirts are allowed! Looking forward to next Thursday 💜

We’re hoping to get as many staff and pupils wearing skirts as we can. So, if you’re willing to share, please send your children into school with clearly labelled skirts for others to wear. Kilts or costume skirts would work too 😃

P6 have been learning about the importance of breaking down gender stereotypes. We have organised a ‘Wear a Skirt to School Day’ to raise awareness of campaign. This will be on Thursday 4th November and we’d love everyone to get involved! 👗
