USA is one of the only Western countries to NOT have universal healthcare, I feel sorry for you guys

-
ONce again. America is the ONLY REPUBLIC in the world.
-
Ok cool but you still don't have universal healthcare
-
Show me anywhere in the Constitution that says American are entitled to universal health care. Failing that, you have no argument.
-
Pretty sure that promoting the general welfare, which is in the constitution, makes a pretty good argument for health care.
-
A sick populace that suffers from poor health care or lack of access to it is not in the interest of the general welfare of the country.
-
I mean, by your argument, the government should never have created the highway system because it's not in the constitution.
-
This is obviously an incredibly silly argument.

American citizens "worldwide," as in living in other developed countries, do have healthcare. It's the ones here in US who have to go w/o.
-
Obamacare is mandatory. Why are you going without?
-
Insurance =/= care provider. Insurance pays for service, care provider actually performs service.
-
Like car insurance will pay to repair your car, but a mechanic does the actual repair work.
-
ACA expanded insurance, not actual care providers. If you can't access a dr, no amount of insurance $ will heal you.
-
Which is why providers like planned parenthood are still necessary; otherwise many ppl have no access to drs no matter what insurance.
-
You're not getting any care to "heal you" from sicknesses at PP. Next time you have the flu call them and see how that works out.

Having a job is no guarantee of healthcare. Almost half of American WORKERS are not covered.

If it's employer sponsored healthcare and the participation rate is low that means the employee chose not to participate. That's on them.
-
"Participate" means that they're of eligibility not that they volunteered clown
-
Touché however there are mitigating factors that some employees have control over that could otherwise render them eligible.
-
Employees have NO control over their employers' choice whether to provide healthcare nor how much.
-
Exactly! Only time employees have that much control is if they are apart of a union. And even then most unions aren't that great anymore.
-
I've worked in the retail industry for 12 years. I wasn't offered full-time status till about 2 years ago. Very few people "choose" to be PT
-
Thanks. I've worked in both union industry and retail. You stated it very well.
