As for more imaging information ... radiology showed an ill defined expansive heterogeneously T2 hyper-intense lesion in the left middle frontal gurus. Waiting on BRAF V600E results.
Beautiful case! #PathTweetAward
Consider, perhaps:
Cortical dysplasia + balloon neurons (can't tell if there is dyslamination on low power here)
Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma
Ganglioglioma
Get:
radiology correlation
GFAP, BRAF, CD34
Molecular genetic panel

Great differentials! Will post IHCs later and waiting on molecular as of now
Would inquire about imaging/history if the possibility of Tuberous sclerosis fits.
Focal cortical dysplasia type IIB, most frequent in frontal lobe of children with drug-resistant epilepsy
Rule out Tuberous sclerosis complex. Diff Ganglioglioma, although it is uncommon in frontal lobe
+1 for Ganglioglioma . GFAP, CD34, synaptophysin , BRAFV600E, ki67
