    I truly don't understand why the state governments of Texas and Mississippi would end their mask mandates at this critical moment. Wearing masks saves lives, and until we can get a great deal more people vaccinated, it makes no sense to stop requiring masks.

    Much of this great advice also translates to jobs outside publishing

    If you’re a young editor who hopes to become an editorial director someday, this is the note my boss at S&S wrote to me on my last day there before I became the editorial director at Quirk. I just rediscovered it, and now it’s yours.
