reading through the whole story here its actually a really nice read as an ex developer myself. Very cool that there doing something like this.

I can't say that I've read the story, but I really want it to be something along the lines that Mike didn't agree with the direction Activision is pushing Blizzard in and decided to leave and he's now pursuing something new with the ex employee's to build G O L D.

I wouldnt get my hopes up. Creating a brand new MMO from scratch takes upwards of 5 years and that's if they have proper funding and good sized dev team (which I could see being the case given their rep). Still. Probably wouldn't be out until after the expansion after SL.
