Idiots can be brilliant people but that doesn't mean their ideas are valid (having predictability). We're a species hypnotized by mental peacocking. Otherwise I agree with you.

the preference is to never argue unless you get satisfaction solely from doing it.

While in the moment its gratifying, long term its almost always a loss. But I can rewire my mind to view winning as salvaging time and putting in effort elsewhere. (Implicitly their not worth my time. The ultimate victory.)

I like my doctor to know a mountain of facts. :-)
-
Often times facts drown out heuristics. For example I know a diabetic who went Paleo. His blood sugar began to stabilize. The disease began to reverse. When he went to his doctor he was warned about red meat. The doctor is an idiot.

Well, you know what they call the person who graduates last in their class in med school? Doctor! But I still stand by what I said. :-)

I don't necessarily like to write somebody who's ill-informed or ill-educated as an idiot, even if they act like one. Far smarter people than me invested their time and energy waterboarding me in debates and I'm better for it.
