Hey what's a better gender neutral term for people being dressed up and/or hosting at booths? Do we have any that's actually in use? Host?

Absolutely. I don't think I ever heard the male German version of that one be used. The words we use are telling.

I don't think it's that simple - the female version hostess exists, but host is afaik also used for women

Yeah unfortunately in German 'Hostess' is really the only one I've heard used but that's probably a separate issue.

Apparently it depends on the culture and situation. Hostess def carries meanings that Host doesn't.
