Munich is a nice city to have a stroll through but I don't think it has anything you'd really HAVE to see. If you're there more than a day: Augsburg is an old city close by that is very pretty. The Fuggerei is imho very worth visiting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuggerei

And no idea if these were ever a thing outside of German speaking countries, but there is also this in Augsburg: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augsburger_Puppenkiste … I've never been there, though, so I don't know how nice it is to visit.
