Depends on the OS but my go to is EZgif and just tweaking settings until you get it right.

Record at native res, if its pixel art don’t scale it. Twitter can take 15mb or less gifs. To reduce gif size try lossy gif compression.

I'm using good old Photoshop's legacy web export. Drag'n'Drop the video into PS, cut to whatever part you want, turn into smart object, apply sharpening to compensate for the loss of contrast when scaling down and then tweak length and size to fit into 15MB.

So hey, it's been a while, but I still wanted to share a few of the gifs I've been making. I'm not entirely happy with them yet and would still like the file size to go down more while at the same time having a higher quality, but one step at a time.https://imgur.com/t/gaming/D7hR8zU …

For these I used what
@phi6 had suggested. Recorded game footage with OBS and then used the recorder of ScreenToGif at 500x500. I didn't use Encoder 1 for quite a few because the file size was way too big, so instead I went with Encoder 2 and killed off a lot of colours.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I've found GifMicro to be quite effective when compressing gifs - maybe worth trying?

Those look absolutely stunning, I love them. Btw - 500x500 is just the default guide, I often have to go to 470 or so to get it to fit 15mb exactly. Obviously depends on colors and framerate too. But yeah, you got it!
