Many have asked if the House managers can move for a mistrial. Here are my quick thoughts: I wish Schiff WOULD make a motion for a mistrial based on, among other things, the revelation of Cipollone’s grossly unethical conduct/conflicts of interest. I wouldn’t be deterred that...

Murkowski & Collins are devious charlatans Murkowski voted against Kavanaugh but blocked witnesses & docs Collins voted for Kavanaugh but supported a subpoena for Bolton These hypocrites cast “show votes” out of expediency if McConnell does not need their votes. VOTE THEM OUT

GOP strawman #37: If it's illegal for Trump to solicit foreign oppo on his rival, then so is Clinton's use of the Steele Dossier. 1. Clinton isn't on trial. The std is the law, not Clinton's conduct. 2. POUTS abused federal $$ and 🚻. 3. Bribery 16 other felonies/misdemeanors.

Agreed 💯. Trump, McConnell, Graham, Nunez, Barr, Mulvaney, Pompeo, Giuliani should be charged for obstruction of justice and cover up. They should be prosecuted for the crime against the American people

We proved our case. Republican Senators now admit Trump is guilty as charged. Still, they blocked witnesses from testifying, and deprived the American people of a full accounting of Trump’s misconduct. Senators will now render judgement – and be held accountable for it.

How do we function as a democracy when we acknowledge that our President is allowed to break the law and yet look the other way? Not calling witnesses shows that have lost any moral compass. Shame on you, (4/4)

To say that they believe that did ask for foreign interference in our domestic elections and not need to hear more and yet refuse to vote for removal because they like his policies is mind boggling. They argued on the floor of the that the (1/4)

Will I ever rejoin the GOP? No. Trump will leave office some day (I hope!), but he will leave behind a quasi-authoritarian party that is as corrupt as he is. The failure to call witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial revealed the GOP’s moral failure.

  15. Republican Senators have given Trump and all future Presidents ABSOLUTE POWER. If that doesn’t scare you, it should. The USA is on a slippery slope headed straight for a fascist state. Trump has carte blanche to do whatever he is wants in the next year. God help us.

Question from , , to the House Managers: Aren’t these views exactly what our Framers warned about: an imperial president escaping accountability?

First it was "Nothing to see here, everything's fine." Then, "Yeah Trump did these things & they're bad but they're not impeachable." Now it's, "Yeah Trump did these things & they ARE impeachable but we don't want to." No wonder they're desperate to bury facts/block witnesses.

With tonight's defeat of motions for docs/witnesses, the “trial” is now officially a coverup. The Senate failed its responsibility & endorsed an imperial presidency immune from accountability by indictments, investigations, or impeachment. A tragedy for our Constitution & America

At no point in this trial will the Senate have sat down as a deliberative body and *actually discussed* the information being presented. Something any other jury would do. Just another action by Mitch McConnell that undermines what once was a great institution.

They really made the Democrats case today that it should be a full and fair trial with access to witnesses and documents. —
