    1. is less a policy dispute than a theory-of-change one. Older Dems & media are so used to letting GOP & its base set the agenda (be the protagonists, as says) that letting the Dem base take charge breaks their brains.

When people tell me Harry's a good dog, I think of all the buckets of beef liver treats I went thru training him, all the street festivals I wrangled him thru to socialize him to anyone/anything, and say "thanks" via

Often wonder if EVs would be more widespread if car reviewers weren't so heavily male, who talk about growling gas engines like they're vibrators. Meanwhile, Emma Jayne Williams: "Ioniq is powerful, fun to drive with excellent ride quality, attractive"

Beto is polling at 2%. He could beat Cornyn in TX. Hickenlooper is polling at 1%. He could beat Gardner in CO. Bullock is polling at 0%. He could beat Daines in MT. Stacey Abrams isn’t even running. She could beat Perdue in GA. We *need* the Senate in 2020.

”A majority of UK voters support radical action to slash greenhouse gases to nearly zero by 2050 at a cost of tens of billions of pounds, a new poll has found. 59% of voters would support such action, with only 8% opposing it and 34% who had no view.”

I hereby call for total and complete shutdown on the word “Washington,” which both ignores the issue of asymmetric polarization AND materially aids the GOP by serving up their chief talking point that “Washington is broken” and government is disfunctional. 1/

Maryland added 1700 miles of lanes over the last decade. Traffic is worse. The wisdom of the editorial board is: "Build a lot more lanes for billions of dollars. It will work this time. I swear." You just didn't take enough snake oil last time to cure the cancer.

The iron rules of clean air regulation: 1) They always work to protect public health 2) They never destroy the economy like industry says 3) For all future regs, the media forgets #1 & #2 and focuses exclusively on industry's cost estimates, totally ignores benefits

For Richard Neal to take "invite anyone you want to your climate hearing" and turn it into "your hearing is canceled & you made a Republican look like a victim" ... what is a stronger word than own goal

It's a choice reporters make to cover certain subjects like foreign policy or economics by interviewing and quoting subject matter experts, and to cover housing and transportation policy by interviewing and quoting random neighborhood busybodies and cranks.

And again, there's no constituency for it. Biden, like Clinton before him, is starting with what his major donors will accept, and reverse-engineering the messaging from there to pretend those Rust Belt voters just won't give up fracking. But polls show that's not true!

Biden's "plan" is so revealing about the total failure of centrism to engage with the 21st century's crises. There's no innovation here. It's just, do less, only solve half the problem, let half the people drown, my big donors don't really care to fix it anyway.
