  2. The bill to reopen government that we passed in the House and just sent to the Senate is the same bill they passed 100 to 0 two weeks ago. It includes over $1 billion for border security. Pay our workers. Reopen the American government.

  3. The administration’s shutdown is punishing those who can least afford it. It’s triggered an end to health and safety inspections for elderly, disabled, and low-income Americans, putting their safety at risk. The Senate must do its job and call a vote.

    Commuters had yet another terrible night getting back from Penn Station last night. It’s not good enough and we need both state and federal governments to be pulling in the same direction on public transport and infrastructure investment.

    This morning I requested that my pay be withheld until the shutdown is over. 800,000 federal workers are not receiving their paychecks, including 1,000s in New Jersey. I came here to govern, not engage in partisan politics at the expense of hardworking Americans.
