My i7-7700k (4.4ghz, corsair h80i) hits around mid 60's to 70 ~ ish during OW (sometimes spikes up to 75-80c when I minimise). is this normal? read it's a hot chip and I've had it for over a year without any issue but lately my game feels kinda micro stuttery

The temperatures themselves are completely fine for a 7700k, nothing you really have to worry about. Are you sure the micro stutters are related to the increased CPU temperature? Could be something running in the background maybe :/
I'm not sure at all what is the cause, the cpu temps was only thing I could think of but thanks for advising me. I'll look into stopping some background processes maybe?

Could be the patch, maybe some of your ingame settings changed or something, hard to tell :(

Maybe patch yeah. Settings are the same tho. Recently cleaned my fans too
