Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, the state’s top medical doctor, reiterates how people of color are disproportionately impacted by #COVID19 and other health issues.
“The statistics are staggering,” she says.

“Overall, we are seeing a plateau [in #COVID19 cases] after an uptick in June and July,” Dr. Khaldun says.
The Traverse City Region is the only one in the state with 10 cases per million per day, she adds.

“These plateauing trends are not a reason” to relax, Dr. Khaldun says.
She says it only takes a few people to cause an outbreak.
“We are still seeing too many outbreaks,” Khaldun notes.
