what’s the most surreal encounter you’ve had with someone famous? been thinking about this all day... mine was looking up while riding a bucking bronco in Liverpool last year and seeing Hugh Grant looking at me, who then stuck his tongue out and then just shrugged.

Bill Nighy walked up and down past my house nine times while carrying a mug of tea on a December afternoon.

This is the most Bill thing ever. When I go into town and don't see him mooching around it's almost as if I went into central and didn't see the BT Tower on the skyline. He and London are one. It's beautiful and I love it.

When visiting relatives in Whitstable as a kid one winter we went for a post Sunday dinner walk along the beach. It was dusk when we turned to head back. Half way back it had got a lot darker when, walking towards us, was Peter Cushing and C/topher Lee. I nearly shat myself.

Interviewed Goldie & bumped into him on a silent rush hour tube. I smiled and he recognised me but couldn't place me, so I made a writing motion until he finally clocked and announced loudly "oh thank God, I thought we'd slept together and I didn't remember you".

Xmas Eve (prob 91?) I'd taken LSD (TMNT) and was walking along a deserted road in the West Country. A car pulled up, the window wound down and Stefan Dennis (yes, it was him) asked me how to get to Liverpool. That was pretty weird.

I feel like there is simultaneously so much more to know about this & also that knowing more would ruin the perfection of the story
