The defense attorney Tim Clarke urged the judge for a lesser sentence, so the defendant could be sent back to El Salvador. “I think it’s not beneficial to anyone that she stay here,” he said.

Her attorney told the court she was kidnapped at a young age in El Salvador and escaped to give her and her child a better life. A short time into her US stay she got involved again with the gang. @wtop

Judge John Maloney said to Ramirez “You’re a scary human being.” Especially since she admitted to police that she helped organize two murders in El Salvador, on of which was the murder of a police officer
