NYC stopped theirs and JC mayor says no for similar reasons mainly lack of police resources. Is there info available how others are implementing this successfully? Some people must exercise 4 mental health & don’t have safe space.

Yes, by not requiring police. All these closures should require is the placement of lightweight barricades and signs. Any public works dept should be able to set up the infra. and walk away. Police, city staff, essential businesses, and citizens can report any ongoing issues.

they have closed 7.5 miles of roads through parks, which is the most common response thus far.

Way to go @CMBrandonCoan and others who made this happen in Louisville.

As someone who spent nearly 20yrs working in #urbanparks I'm struck by this list -- cities with exceptional park systems that are also accessible within a 10 min walk by most if not all residents.
These leaders act on #Covid19Streets
b/c they already value #parks & #openspace

Is this a thing now? Stay home people. Street/road restructuring will come after the crisis is over.
