The billboards are supposed to reinforce upcoming PSAs about the tunnel route and summer tolls. Are they worthwhile? You be the judge.

Also advertise a trip pretty much nobody takes except maybe some tourists in the opposite direction.

Amazon's employee buses (already two routes from WS to SLU, or so I'm told) will make the most of the tunnel, I expect.

I wonder if they could have connected hwy 99 to 520 and I90 by tunnel before they took apart Bertha. Could they do a new project?

An elevated "Bay Freeway" idea was proposed in the 1960s and trounced by citizen opposition by the early 1970s. Bertha would not be able to drill two more contiguous tunnels, nor could the public afford what would be a much harder project than the 99 tunnel.
