Police in Minneapolis are firing on us (press) with rubber bullets. Our sound engineer John Marschitz was hit. He is ok. We were not standing within 500 feet of any protesters at the time, and we had credentials displayed and cameras out. #cbsnewspic.twitter.com/Ai6Qd8gLjz

I’m getting sick of press thinking they are worth more than protesters.

I'm sick of people who do not recognize that it is the job of a free press to report what is going on.

The media need to change the narrative around about the police. There are major problems that need addressing. Even in warzones its really odd for the press to be targeted like this.

They do need to change the narrative, because parroting the lines handed down to them of "how local businesses are hurting", "how this needs to be resolved by voting", and how "outside agitators are responsible for the 'destruction of property'" isn't doing them any favors

Press are explicitly exempted from the curfew. They are allowed to stay out and keep reporting.

It was @GovTimWalz and @MayorFrey's choice to say that press were allowed to be out tonight. By making that decision, they have a duty not to have their officials shooting at press. https://dps.mn.gov/macc/Pages/faq.aspx …

They weren’t targeting the press. They are trying to secure the area and keep us safe and not have a repeat of last night.
