The closest you will likely get is the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale or (UWES). Notice that says work engagement as opposed to employee engagement. It is not a proprietary instrument like those specific to consulting orgs. Many student have used it in the graduate research too.

What do you think about Gallup’s engagement index? I believe it’s the Q12.

Utrecht is tops in my opinion. Also a short scale UWES-9. Global norms which helps as a practitioner as most want to know their own benchmark & how they compare to others. Look at JD-R model as well. Again as a practitioner it provides areas to improve.
