    So sad to hear about the death of one of my favorite singers, country music legend Charley Pride. He died today of complications from Covid. Many a day I have prepared for a press conference with Charley’s music playing in the background.

    Difficult tasks - like finding volunteers to go door-to-door, staff phone banks, and walk in parades - Debbie made look easy. She did all of these things with a smile and never asked for anything in return.

    Not only did she help me, but she helped many other people run for office. She was a tireless worker with energy that never seemed to end. She was warm, kind, and never met a stranger.
