2/ This is not speculation, this was said to me directly from a provincial regulator in Ontario in early 2018 (at which point there was one crypto custodian with a Soc 2 Type 1 audit, and no sign of a Soc 2 Type 2 in sight).

3/ This approval opens up a quicker path to these products, which would open the liquidity floodgates, accessibility, hedgeability for BTC, and others (as issued), Soc 2 Type 2 also checks a requirement for MOST institutions to onboard with a custodian or exchange.
