Dear content creators, Your view counts aren’t low because subscribers haven’t clicked the notification bell. They’re low because your subscribers just aren’t interested in every video you make. The bell feature allows people who want to support you but aren’t interested in all

I don't ever use the bell icon. Yet, for some channels I still get notifications about when they release new videos. Why?

YouTube analysis the channels you watch the most and assumes you want to see those. It should be those ones you’re getting them for

I have no channels set for alerts. I get alerts for channels I barely watch.

I think YouTube is sending me alerts only for the bigger channels that I watch, but since big channels are a small fraction of what I actually watch, these notifications appear inconsistent with respect to my actual viewing habits. They promote what benefits them.

I’m not going to disagree this is a possibility but how are people supposed to see the stuff you make if it doesn’t show up in people’s sub feeds or on the home page. Are you saying if people want to see it they will find it?

I’ve never had a new video from anyone I follow not be in my subscription feed. I believe a lot of people are confusing their ‘recommended’ and ‘home’ feds with subscription feeds when they make the claim that videos from channels they subscribe to aren’t showing up.

I know I haven’t really experienced it either except for having to search for stuff when it gets buried if it wasn’t for YouTube coming out and admitting they do it I wouldn’t even be arguing with you

Do you know where they said this? I heard others mention it last week but was unable to find the source saying they left videos out of subscription feeds.

It was in a reply from the TeamYouTube account...I think Wood shared it or the Gamechasers or RGT, someone from that group and that’s where I saw it. The comment was that it was a measure to stop some people from spamming content.
