The roof was on fire in Adams Morgan. Feels like every ladder truck in the city is here. Would not recommend trying to get to the neighborhood by vehicle. Most approach routes blocked. Parking will be worse than usual.

Throughout her career much of her legislation was designed to ensure women had the opportunity to be equal participants in all aspects of American life— economic, scientific, military. It’s almost impossible now to imagine women’s experience in the world before her efforts.

Pat repealed the restrictions against women in combat aviation & surface combatants, leading to leadership opportunities for an entire generation of women in the military. She fought to ensure service academies, basic training were available to women.

Pat was my first boss & a huge influence on my leadership style. She lived her values & empowered those who worked for her to bring about change regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation. She was truly ahead of her time. We’ll miss you, Pat!
