"The hell is this?" Wow, gamers are so fickle to say something like that? It might not be for you, but what about those who are disabled and still want to find a way to play their games. I don't need it, but it's a great idea for those who normally can't play.
-
Not fickle, more like too dumb to read and too heartless to show empathy. Having worked in gaming responses like this sadly don't surprise me one bit.
-
Yeah couldn't think of the right term but you hit it right on the head. Even worse it could also be console fanboys who take the stupidity and heartlessness to a whole new level.
-
Console fan boys are idiots. Those nutters don't understand the economics of games. They'd also no doubt blow a gasket if they found out how many PlayStations there are in MS studios or how many Xbox consoles are in Sony studios!
-
I have friends who are disabled, and they want to use games as therapy (one of my friends has MS and she used Guitar Hero to help remedy some of the symptoms.) i shown this idea to her and she loved it.
-
Yup. Would also be amazing for military and children's hospitals. Gaming is one of the few real escapes that people confined to a bed can engage in. Yet somehow a bunch of gamer trolls manage to whine about it. Go figure.
-
Never even thought of that. Another good point!

This is awesome. Great work creating a controller for those who can’t use a traditional console controller.

@MegavoltService, we were about a year into the project at that point :-) -
Its nice to know that in the end its a win win! My dream of a open HW break out box for ppl to make therr own adaptive controllers is real

How about making it more affordable? A lot of disabled people are low income yet their expenses are higher. Maybe have a grant program or something?
-
$99 is affordable what are you talking about
-
Affordable is relative. It’s $50 more than a regular controller and it doesn’t include all the accessories you need to attach to it. And many disabled people have limited incomes. I’m happy they’re producing it, but the cheaper it is, the better.
-
They needed to pay the devs software engineers and to even make the technology this is new stuff it isn’t cheap if they are selling it for $100 there must be a lot in this controller
-
No doubt there is a lot going into it. Giving price breaks to disabled people who need it shouldn’t cut into devs salaries. Microsoft is a big company and can afford to help people who need it if the choose to. Do you get my point about many disabled people have low incomes?
-
I get that point but that doesn’t change the fact that they are a busniess and not a charity and any real gamer disability or not will buy what they need for the best experience
-
Corporations do charitable work. Bill Gates is one of the biggest philanthropists there is. I’m just saying that maybe they can throw a little of their charity into this cause.
-
I know thy do that but what your asking for is for them to do a charity for the people they made the product for this isn’t something for that they made this for real gamers with disability why should they have to lower price with it i doesn’t make sense to me
