Windows Hello Face recognition was defeated by SYSS. They use the special processed photo, but this still be photo. Not user himself. NIST changed their recommendation about passwords to more memorable combination of 4+ unrelated words. Your predictions is too premature, guys ;)

Even iPhone X's Face ID was defeated by a mask. Preparing a mask or a specialized pic may be done for espionage but not for clearing my bank account. So I am happy with Hello as I can get into my device even if someone is watching over my shoulder.

Windows Hello can’t be defeated by mask, because it uses IR sensitive sensor. Windows Hello fingerprint can’t be defeated by fingerprint photo, like iPhone fingerprint. Technically Microsoft better than Apple. No “even” anymore ;)

But, guys, how many devices support facial recognition? Average RealSense webcam (only this webcam type supports by Windows Hello) costs ~250 USD (as a separate device). Why do you think about "password's era is gone"? This is may be only dream for the present, not reality.

The biggest security problem is websites getting compromised, not bad passwords. The moment your biometric data (hashed/unhashed/data/binary) gets hijacked your life is permanently screwed because...you can't change biometrics. Thanks Microsoft though! Such SMRT thinking.

But the sad part of the show is at the end they mentioned about iPhone X whose Face ID was also tricked by a mask. I was using Hello on my 950 for past several years...NBC ignores anything that is not from Apple...
