No..you're supposed to force them to upgrade their systems, not rely on out of support Win XP. #wannacrypt #nhscyberattack

Or maybe just reinstate regular updates for XP and bring it up to date.
-
It came out 16 years ago. It's a wonderful OS, sure, but is it really worth keeping that up to date in terms of security? No, it's not.
-
People aren't buying XP anymore. And so it's costing Microsoft more and more to support an OS no one purchases.
-
So pay for updates? It's Microsoft simply imposing the new business model on their customers. Nothing to do with security.
-
Read guardian coverage. UK Govt didn't cough up the money required for further support.
-
Expecting MS to run charity for UK gov is little too much specially when maintenance of old os is gonna cost a bomb.
-
Oh boo hoo, this comes out after it's released that bill gates personal fortune went up $6bn - my heart bleeds for poor old MS

This is almost unnerving necromancy, but thanks for doing it!
-
This is like responding to emails late at night and at the weekend though... will they keep this up for the next attack?

The link to the patch is down! Will you be fixing this?!

-
It probably crashed the website

-
Maybe? Who knows. Could be one part of MS not talking to another and pulling it down because they can.
-
Maybe. But I believe the server is down...
