Fascinating! I'd be really interested in seeing how blind people adapt to even very abstract audio representations of the obstacles around them. I figure that with enough audio information and time to learn, they could accurately perceive the space around them.

They're pretty much on the cusp of just wiring straight Into your brain now. They know how to produce visual effects without the eyes being involved. Even recording visuals of dreams a few years back. Crazy matrix stuff.

1RAEY -I believe that with the right sound input, you could learn to perceive the space around as you do when in a familiar room with your eyes closed. Perception is a very broad thing. But our understanding of areas of the brain that are active when seeing or dreaming is growing
