Remember last night's problematic nanoparticle image? I found its source, published by another group 6 years earlier. And it appears to have duplications too. This is wild.

When I stumbled across duplicated/forged figures in a paper it was nanoparticles, too. Seems to be a big problem.

Or just that Nano being Nano and we are looking them at zoomed mega scales or just that small dimensions have a higher chance of structural similarity (to naked eyes) in different studies/ materials. Just wondering, with apprec. the fact that such practices r pervasive in nano.

I don't understand why people do like this. As a prospective researcher I am very much concerned about science being carried out in present time. I have started to lose trust in laboratory researches. Recently Novartis scam is also in light.

Sometimes it's the system which make them to do so. High pressure to publish instead of do excellent research work, even though the results are not the expected.
