Can't get over this article "the best way of saving patients might be to saturate their blood with oxygen delivered through a mask without using a ventilator" Thanks Daily mail! I thought those plastic masks hanging next to beds were dream catchers!https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8230775/amp/Is-proof-live-saving-ventilators-actually-deathtraps.html?__twitter_impression=true …

And why is it ok to show a photo of this patient? Oh, he’s not from the UK so that doesn’t matter then..

I saw @cameronks video a few weeks ago. It Made so much sense after watching it, as there has been 0% success with ventilators where I am working. However proning CPAP are seeing really positive results

On the other hand, some places are having a lot of success with ventilating + or - proning but recovered patients don't make news.

One small upside may be that people won’t insist on *everything* being done should they become unwell.

And if they can’t maintain their own airway?? It’s just because they need more oxygen!! 🤪

I give up. I really do. They can ventilate themselves from now on. (I acknowledge that I may feel differently after a decent night’s sleep)

‘He also places patients on their left or right side, a process called proning that is simpler to perform on patients in masks than those on ventilators, which instantly raises oxygen levels in their blood’. Give me strength.

Or is it a justification for govt not buying ventilators?
