  2. The path is not hidden, merely uninteresting. Somewhere along it stands an unremarkable house. Knock, and a nondescript person will open. This is the Secret Archivist. "My secrets," I say. "Those that still scare me." The Archivist brings a book. It is smaller than it used to be.

    being a writer is constantly a wild time. do you love writing? sure! do you know what you're doing? probably not! is your work brilliant, genius, trash, or all of them at once? yes! are you just a whole pile of anxieties stacked up and wearing a trench coat? no one knows!

    He awoke in the night, alert and afraid. It was too quiet. His eyes went to the attic hatch. "Hello?" he whispered. It cracked open, slowly. "Still here," the monster whispered back, "You're not alone." He relaxed, and went back to sleep.

    At the reception, the alien ambassador turned to their human guide. "It seems so strange," they said, "that there are two distinct types of humans." "Ah, yes, 'men' and 'women'. You see-" "No, multiple sexes and genders is common. I mean how some are unable to say 'I was wrong'."
