On a crowded train, he heard a woman say, "Look, cirrus clouds," in a voice that reminded him of summer and honey and bells. He tried to turn, but a wall of flesh held him in place. At the next stop, the train emptied and he lost her. Now he feels lonely on slightly cloudy days.
