I feel terrible asking, but since I genuinely don't understand your post, I ask seeking knowledge. What do you mean?

Which part confused you?
-
Where the insult lie, because I can feel the anger in the message, but I don't understand what's being said. Again, please know that I'm only trying to understand. You don't have to reply to this.
-
I’m not angry. Kinda the opposite. I’m a straight white cis guy. People see me the way I want to be seen. But in this one area, I’ve lost a bit of control. And it made me realize how lucky I am generally, because some people never get that, through no fault of their own.
-
I suppose that was where I got lost, at comment of people running different Twitter accounts. I see now, and I think I understand. Had you been MicroFlashFicGuy, things may have been different, and the difference being online makes.
-
If only I’d had you around to help me pick my handle!
-
Thank you, by the way, for taking the time to explain that to me.
-
Sure thing. Normally I don’t like explaining tweets because my stories don’t usually have defined points. I want them to be open to interpretation. This is real life, so it’s different.

I don't even know what that means.
-
It means people should have more empathy for situations that are outside their experience.
-
Still no clue, but fine. I have only so many brain cells to dedicate to any one thing at a time.
-
Which part of that confused you?

I did think you were more than one people at first. Sorry for that, I now imagine it must feel weird. The upside is that the quality of your different kinds of writing is _that_ good
-
Thanks, buddy. I'm not really upset; it's more like this experience taught me something and I wanted to share it.

as a trans person i agree
-
Thanks. I was a little worried it was too much of a stretch. This was an area where my thinking lagged behind the curve for longer than I care to admit (and still might in some ways). It’s a little embarrassing how much this one experience taught me and I wanted to share.
-
I've had to pretend to be someone I'm not around people who are unaccepting, so why shouldnt transphobes feel something at least similar?

being misgendered doesnt just suck for trans people, it sucks for everyone
-
An excellent point. My wife and I both have androgynous names. We used to have a landlord who had us confused and we just kinda shrugged our way through it for two years because we're both way too awkward to correct someone on that score.

For some reason I always assumed a woman ran this account, but I commiserate, because 100% of people on Twitter assume I'm a dude.
-
Ha! I don’t that one nearly as often. Well, now we know each other.
