I’ve heard that the preferred plural for Sphinx is Sphinges. I’m not trying to be pedantic, it’s just that since I found out it’s become one of my favorite words, and I get to use it so rarely.

I'm surprised she didn't just eat them.

She knew they wouldn't agree with her ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed the pun & the fact that you both assumed the sphinx was female.
-
*** I want to say Greek sphinxes are traditionally female and Egyptian ones are traditionally male. But I could be wrong. This one could go either way, depending on how you want to interpret it. Your imagination is valid. All versions are canon.
-
Oh yeah, I was just saying that I like that since they have historically been depicted in both ways & no gender was given they're immediate thought was female.
-
You're ok, I think the more telling part is no one assumed the speaker's gender :D
-
Not only did I not assume a gender, I didn't assume a single speaker. This to me reads really well as a party.
