How do you check your archive? A simple search, or do you re-read all 1200?

You can download your posts from Twitter as a spreadsheet -- the feature is buried in the settings menu. The story I was thinking about involved an elevator, so it wasn't hard to search for.
-
Searching is not hard but scrolling down and down and down to get to the bottom is tiring.
-
Yeah, I need to figure out a better archive solution for these.
-
You could start pasting them all in a word doc so you can search that. Plus then you have a backup of them all.
-
I do that.
But I was curious what other options there might be. -
For a while, I looked at building a site where you could hit a button and get a random story, maybe with some content filters. I'm not a web developer though so that's proved tricky. I'll probably do a book at some point, but that'd be more of a "best of" thing than an archive.

wow! and I just found you! the OCD part of me wants to read everything you've ever written! where did you go to elementary school?

-
Honestly, the early ones aren't very good. I wouldn't recommend reading them all -- especially not going backward. It'll look like I'm getting worse! I went to St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Why do you ask?
-
no! no! no! please delete your response! I was just joking! your life, your privacy is precious! I was just kidding!
-
Don't worry, I'm not especially private.
-
K! but you are precious. everyone who follows you sees it in your work!
-
Absolutely agree. He's the best thing in my feed (after Neil Gaiman!). An anthology would be great

I love reading your stories! Something spooky happened at work the other day, and made me think of you. Our alarm system “created” a door that doesn’t exist, and the alarm went off because the door had no sensor connected. Seemed like a good prompt for a story. Another dimension.

That must be a wonderfully frustrating feeling. :3 Would you ever consider publishing these at a certain landmark number or word count? I could absolutely see myself carrying them around with me. The range is so vast, and such a great small read to look back upon.
-
I'll probably kickstart a highly subjective "best-of" collection at some point-- it'd most likely be 200-250 stories from Twitter and then some new stuff so people don't feel like they're paying for something they've already got. The logistics of it are tricky but I'll get there.
-
That sounds like a great project. ^^ I'll definitely be wishing you the best!
