Harriet was collateral damage in a great war she knew nothing about. She should've paid more attention when her new neighbours moved in. The green shade of their skin was unusual, as was their large, upturned noses. The bird was still twitching. It looked very, very angry.

For a moment i could see it with an actual cardinal (as in the catholic ones, not the birds). Definitely weirder.
