We laughed at people who called Earth "mother," imagining them babies crying at night for comfort. But they knew something. The mother nourishes, but she is also jealous, suspicious, controlling. When we explored other worlds, she did not handle it well. Now we can never go home.

Thanks for the recommendation, it's on my TBR list along with the Goblin Emperor, Obsidian and Blood, The Poppy War and the Band.. Needless to say 24hrs are just not sufficient, if only I didn't need to sleep..
