Sec. of State Michael Adams has a message for candidates: to win a general election, reach out beyond your base & go after voters registered not as Republicans or Democrats.
Why? KY voter registration for independents/other political affiliation broke the 10% mark.

Someone was killed in my neighborhood yesterday. Today, my camera caught a reporter knocking on my door.
STOP SENDING REPORTERS TO DOOR KNOCK AFTER MURDERS.
A SOT from a "shocked" neighbor adds nothing of substance to the story. But it potentially puts a reporter at risk.

Great news for Jefferson County voters: We fought hard to get you more voting locations - and we won. 1/2

The State Board of Elections and the Secretary of State's Office are two separate, independent entities. As a ranking member of a county party, you should know that.

Finally, you guys should be more open in the ORR process.

Really? The explanation is the in the transcript. 🤦♀️
"I don't find those reasons to be persuasive...I have concerns about Oldham..."
"....would be to approve all outstanding county plans with the possible EXCEPTION of Carrol and Oldham."

For those playing at home: here is the transcript. At no time did the Secretary ever object to approval or even recommend not approving. I look forward to Michon providing an explanation to all of us about which words out of the mouth of the SoS amounted to "an objection."

I have more integrity than to post misinformation, half-truths, or lies on social media. You should follow suit. Our state and country would be better for it.

I would tone down the QT Sass if I were you. The record does not reflect your story here. And you all are on the verge of another disaster based on what I'm seeing out of Kenton County, where there has been no public input on any sort of plan at all. Period. Full stop. [The End]

Since you appear to be confused, below is a link to the meeting when the board overrides the Secretary's objection. You'll note, Ben Chandler recommends approval of Oldham's plan.

Happy to provide a transcript of the Secretary "objecting" to the Oldham plan during the meeting. Didn't happen. In fact, you should watch it again, what the Secretary did do was come and regurgitate reasons given by the Clerk that the plan should be approved. (1/x)

It’s clear Dave doesn’t watch SBE or legislative meetings. If he did he would know Secretary Adams objected to Oldham’s plan and was overruled by the bipartisan board.
People like Dave are the reason misinformation & polarization are so rampant. Do better.

You allowed voting locations to be slashed in 2022. The board you chair approved every single consolidation plan; even those with obviously inadequate locations, like Oldham and Kenton; even those submitted well after the deadline.

If the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office had contacted JCPS about using schools as polling locations, wouldn’t have had to.
Four locations is not enough.

BTW for all those asking where I got this data: the @KYSecState failed to produce any ability for us to export election results on election night so I built these scrapers overnight. I kicked off the software at 2:30 am. They are about 3/4 done, but I do have Louisville results.
