Do you see these replies suggesting that female attorneys not have long hair or appear feminine in order not to be tasked with secretarial duties? DO YOU SEE THEM?!?!?
Quote Tweet
Fellow women attorneys, how do you handle male co-counsel who treat you like their personal secretaries? I'm at a loss.

👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 Even more on underfunded #uted.
Quote Tweet
Two ways that #UTpol legislators often talk about #UTed funding: 1) citing total increase over time (state budgets are in the billions) 2) citing the high child-taxpayer ratio to explain low per-pupil funding. These aren't the only ways to talk about school funding, though. twitter.com/gopTODD/status…

Dan, I'm not trying to change your mind, just trying to disseminate accurate information. I'm not sure what you mean by castration medications, but if you are referring to some of the hormones used for people who are transgender, some of the effects are irreversible.

It doesn’t matter how much you “invested” in #uted if it’s still wholly underfunded. Here’s a simple explainer: if something costs $20 and you give $10, you can’t keep saying you funded it because you gave $10. It costs $20.
Quote Tweet
This is why it’s hard to take @sltrib serious. The #utleg has invested $2.4 Billion in new money into #uted since 2015 — and poised to invest another $300+ million this year. Also, “almost no public input?” HB215 had two public hearings — which is the same as every other bill.

Thousands and thousands of injunctions would likely be affected. Not a great bill and it shouldn’t pass.

The Utah State Bar opposes #HJR2 on the grounds that it will hinder access to justice and adversely affect the administration of the courts. The Bar takes no other position on any other issue that may be driving this bill. #A2J #HJR2

Yes. My political power is oozing over. If only I wasn’t single the world would be a better place and social order would be reestablished. If only there was a man out there willing to support me and my 7 children so I could go back to the kitchen. Please oh please?

The political power of single women, especially single mothers, must be diminished in order to regain traditional values, traditional family, and to reestablish social order.

I don’t understand Quinn Kotter’s vote. Wasn’t he the one to pull out the Bible and talk about the moral truths of male and female?

As a single, working mom with a disabled child, getting calls from school telling me he couldn’t go was heartbreaking. This bill sends public money to private schools with no protection for students, especially for disabled students. It’s a world most ppl no nothing about.

My son with DS had a Carson Smith scholarship to attend a private school. It was not enough to cover tuition, & the $3k therapy package, & the $12/hr personal aide the school deemed necessary. I couldn’t afford to keep him there. $8k wouldn’t be enough either.

.@Mskriebe (a teacher in her day job) says education groups do not support it. She says lawmakers are not having conversations with educators. She says existing scholarships (like Carson Smith) are not being fully used. She questions accountability and has an amendment. #utpol

Oof. HB215’s bunk approval % of 74 is already down to 59% - and the question asked isn’t even relevant to the legislation. 😬

I’d like to see the Legislature’s data that parents support HB215. The School Board opposes it. It’s being rammed through so fast the legislators haven’t had time to receive comments from their constituents. Parents support it? Prove it.

It’s pretty clear this is one of the worst starts the Utah Legislature has had in a long time. They should have stuck to winning issues - the Great Salt Lake, housing, heck, even a stupid tax cut. They need some good PR people.

Yeah - let’s get back to the real public enemy #1 - trans kids.

Generally when we label people as Public Enemy #1 we’re talking about terrorists or existential threats to our country. But instead, @betterutah has sent out texts and emails across the state identifying myself and Senator Cullimore as Public Education Enemy #1…🧵

I could say a lot about how private schools serve disabled students - even private schools SET UP to serve these students (they only accept up to a certain % of the classroom pop). And it’s not that great. And $8k is nothing. But I’m tired tonight. So maybe some other time.

Show me the survey results of how Utah parents feel about their tax dollars being taken from public ed and given to private elite businesses who pick and choose their student population and intentionally discriminate against disabled students.

It was never about protecting kids. Yesterday in Utah, Senator Escamilla called Republicans bluff by making them vote on banning teenage breast implants in an anti-trans healthcare ban. All Republicans voted against it. Subscribe to support my work.

The #Math isn’t hard on #HB215 Private elementary school average tuition is $10,865. High school is $12,872. A $8,000 voucher doesn’t cover tuition. The deficit families pay = $3,000-$5,000 per child/year. This bill doesn’t expand education opportunities. #utpol #utleg #voteNO

In an effort to protect children, the Utah Leg spent its 1st day banning gender-affirming care for trans kids. Are kids self-harming after care? Want to know what does harm kids? Mormon bishops who don’t report abuse and Mormon dads who gun down families. Tackle that next #utleg.

Except for the kids shot down by fathers in towns where police won’t prosecute the abuse of choking young girls and where priesthood leaders look the other way when women complain of abuse.
