Men—when you introduce your employee who's a woman and say, "She does all the work"/"runs things"/"keeps us all sane"/etc.: 1-You are not paying her enough. 2-You haven't given her the title or team she deserves. 3-Talking about her contributions doesn't make up for 1 and 2.

Or the cost of a backpack. Or a virtual conference in place of in-person, and use that money for housing.

Uber Driver: "As a man, I'm terrified that at any time a woman can accuse me of rape." Before I could even open my mouth to say anything, the other passenger, also a guy, said "Why? You the kind of guy that could be accused of rape?

When I hiked the steep part of the Great Wall of China, there was a woman ahead of me who creamed it in heels. In a way she kept me going because I couldn’t believe it and had to keep looking.

Hi, everyone. It's heartening to see this tweet become a rallying cry to action. I'm a survivor of sexual assault & a writer. I have a manuscript for a novel about the intersection of rape culture & Islamophobia. If anyone can support me in getting it published, my DMs are open.

I don't want men to be allies. I want you to be traitors. I want you to be traitors to the system that violently holds you up at the expense of women. I want you to betray the silent pact that patriarchy makes with you to have your back so long as you don't make waves. Revolt.

The continued existence of straight women in 2018 should utterly disprove the idea that homosexuality is a choice.

I teach right after an older prof who often runs long into my setup time. Annoying af. Today, he called me "miss." I ignored him. Then he called me "dear." My students audibly gasped. Before I could respond, one young woman timidly spoke up: "It's DOCTOR." The kids are alright.

A friend is having her fifth child and fourth C-section. Her doctor won’t do more than four C-sections because it’s dangerous to her, but to get “permission” to get her tubes tied, she’s had to say that ovarian cancer runs in the family. It should be up to her. End of story.

Also, I've started my job search! I seek remote/SF-based opportunities in career advising and/or the intersection of technical recruiting/program mgmt. Goal is community impact, especially fostering inclusive workspaces & helping underrepresented people get into/stay in tech.
