At the PepsiCo facility in Carrigaline this morning for the unveiling of their rooftop solar panel installation - the largest in the country.  It’s great to see companies like PepsiCo leading by example, by using sustainable sources of energy in order to protect our planet.

Very welcome investment by Dexcom in Galway, with hundreds of jobs being created in Athenry. Further evidence of Ireland’s pro-enterprise model, founded on investment in education, skills, & research capacity over many decades. Wish Dexcom and its staff every success in future.

Today, I was in Limerick to review the 122nd Infantry Battalion ahead of their departure for Lebanon. Peacekeeping is the most important international actions for good that any nation can participate in. These men and women personify Ireland’s commitment to that noble cause.

The unemployment rate is below 4% for the first time since 2001. We are building more houses now than any time since 2008. Ireland’s post Covid economic recovery has been world-leading. Now we are turning that recovery into real progress in housing.

Deeply shocked and saddened by this morning’s school shooting in Belgrade. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the students, and all those affected by this tragedy. Ireland stands in solidarity with the people of Serbia during this difficult time.

A pleasure to welcome Loretta Brennan Glucksman to Iveagh House tonight. I want to pay tribute to the extensive contribution that Loretta and her late husband Lew have made, over many decades, to the cause of peace and prosperity on this island.

Delighted to meet the winners of the #MyEU50 third level competition today. The last 50 years of EU membership has brought progress and prosperity for Ireland. Now it is up to the next generation - who have already shown much imagination and moral courage - to build on that.

The government has introduced unprecedented measures, worth billions of euro back into the pockets of households, with a view to reducing the impact of the high cost of living.

Encouraging house completion data released by the CSO today. ➡️6716 new homes completed in first three months of the year – up 19.1% on same period in 2022. ➡️Apartment completions up 41% year-on-year. Supply is the answer. Unprecedented investment in #HousingForAll is working.

A good quality home gives people so much more than a roof over their heads. It gives them confidence and security to build stronger, safer and happier communities. That’s why we’re investing in housing at a level unprecedented in the country’s history. bit.ly/3V7lOed

Looking forward to the #FAC in Luxembourg. Deeply appreciative of French & Spanish support in evacuating Irish citizens from Sudan. EU solidarity central in response to this crisis. An immediate ceasefire is essential. The Sudanese people deserve peace, stability and democracy.

An All-Ireland football champion with his beloved Mayo, Mick’s tireless campaigning on alcohol abuse was pioneering. His work as a coroner and GP have left a lasting legacy. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
