We need philosophy because no one was ever radicalized into revolutionary politics from learning mechanical engineering. Technical skills will only make the system more efficient, but we always need at least the possibility of reimagining the system entirely.

The political urgency of Korean students was implanted in their daily lives. Korean peninsula was severed by imperialist forces. The US troops have been present in Korea since 90s. A Korean president was assassinated by CIA. Radicalisation took place long before philosophy class.
